These days it's hard to find anything that does not contain sugar. Here are some foods that may surprise you.
Yogurt
A single cup (245 grams) of low-fat yogurt can contain up to 47 grams of sugar, which is 12 teaspoons. This is more than the daily limit for men and women in just a single cup of so-called "healthy" yogurt
BBQ Sauce
Two tablespoons of it can contain around 14 grams of sugar, or over 3 teaspoons. In fact, up to 40% of the weight of BBQ sauce may be pure sugar.
Ketchup
Like BBQ sauce it contains lots of sugar. A single tablespoon of ketchup contains 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Fruit Juice
Yes, you get some vitamins and mineral but fruit juice is missing its most valuable component, fiber. There can be just as much sugar in fruit juice as there is in a sugary drink like Coke. The poor health outcomes that have been convincingly linked to sugary soda may be linked to fruit juices too.
Be careful what you eat, there are many other items that you may think are healthy that are loaded with sugar. Others include; chocolate milk, protein bars, spaghetti sauce, sports drinks, energy drinks, flavored coffees, iced tea, and pre-made soups. Read the labels!
